There are two sections to the arena, the indoor section and the outdoor section. In warmer weather, the outdoor arena is always used, while when it's cold, the instructors stick to the indoor arena instead. Both have soft landing areas made of sod so that if students fall, they don't get hurt too badly.
Students are only permitted to be in the training arenas with their instructors. This is for safety reasons. Horses must be cleared to be around other horses before they will be allowed into the arenas in company as well. Most lessons are given privately for safety reasons, until the horses are cleared.
