personality overview: 'It's as if you walk, work, and love to a completely different beat, Ronni!' Her mothers words could never have been more spot on, especially since the fire.
Having never quite been normal, Ronni doesn't bother to try for it, but rather goes about things her own way, which is usually however she pleases. But don't let that attitude fool you, she's an extremely sensitive and emotional being with depths you wouldn't even begin to guess. And secrets she desperately wants to share but feels she can't.
Often times you'll find Ronni wearing a mask. Whether it's her feelings, fears, secrets, history, or hurt she's trying to hide, it's all the same; she's not being herself. But beneath that mask is a wonderful person with a great heart and capacity of love and understanding that could just about blow your mind. If your willing to wade through the murky water for a little while, you just might find that it was worth it. Because even with the pain Ronni's suffered, her light hasn't been put out; it still shines, however dimly.
You see, that's the thing about Veronica Jean Curry. No matter what she thinks she's not done yet and never truly will be, she'll always pull herself back up so long as she's given that opportunity. She's capable of making it through anything, because her strength runs as deep anything else, sometimes it's just about being reminded of that.
But please do keep in mind that while Ronni can be a wonderful friend, or anything else, if you fall out hard with her you are likely to find out that she isn't likely to forget, nor is she likely to forgive.

hometown: Redding, California
history: Born into a rather large, and mostly complete family, Ronni always felt the need to be 'different', and she has been. Not only is she the only daughter of Melinda and Nathan Curry, but she's also the youngest and least expected. At fifteen, she's spent her whole life trying hard to be different than any of her other siblings, and she'd succeeded in doing so practically since birth.
While her parents loved her to pieces, and tried their best not spoil, when it came to Veronica, their only daughter, they couldn't quite help themselves. While her brother Jarred had to wait until he was twelve to have his pet dog, at nine, Ronni was gifted with her first horse. These kinds of things caused some tension between her and her siblings, Jared mostly, but at times the others as well.
But as Ronni got older, she started to get handed less and less, and instead, was made to earn the things she received. This helped to improve not only her relationship with her brothers, but at thirteen, her self image as well. It was when she was made to put in work to get the things she wanted that she learned how to truly treasure those things for exactly what they were. And it was because of that lesson she'd learned that the fire that hit the day of her fifteenth birthday hit so hard.
It had been a long evening in which her parents had first had their friends over, then had been quickly followed by her friends coming over. But by the time her parents were calling her in for the night and sending her friends on home, she hadn't been done. So they devised a plan, her and five of her closest friends, to meet back at the barn once she was sure that her parents had went to bed. And it'd worked too.
Knowing her friends as well as she did, Ronni knew what was bound to be there, and she was okay with it. Alcohol was something they used to pass the time on occasion, and while she tried not to ever get to drunk she was known to drink from time to time, especially in a social setting. But how things had gotten out of hand so quickly, she didn't know. Before Ronni knew it, things had gotten out of hand, a bottle of whiskey had been spilt and Ken refused to stop playing with the lighter. But all it took was the the lighter getting too close, and POOF a fire had started, and spread faster than they could handle due to the alcohol.
Everyone had gotten out safely enough, humans at least, but the animals were the concern of Ronni. And as fast as she could, she tried to get all of the horses that were stabled in their barn out, but Genesis was at the back.
By the time, she'd gotten to Genesis to let her out though, the barn was engulfed in flames. Genesis hadn't been okay, she'd gotten burnt near her flank and in Ronni's attempt to get her out, she too had gotten hurt in the process, severely burning her left hand and forearm. Genesis now has a scar on her right side near her tail. They'll both always carry the scars of some really stupid and reckless decisions Ronni made on her fifteenth birthday.
Since that incident, neither Ronni nor Genesis have been the same. Ronni's pulled into herself and Genesis has gotten anxious and testy, to the extreme. Both the owner and the animal are auffering quite a lot. You have to practically drag Ronni out of the house and getting anywhere near Genesis without her being sedated is next to impossible.
So when the Curry's heard about Brook Haven and their mission, they decided that it might be best to send both their daughter and her horse to their capable hand. What they were doing wasn't working, and according to them it wasn't fair to either Genesis or Ronni for them to keep trying with methods that obviously weren't working.
