personality overview: Abigail is truthfully a lovely girl, and fits into the common stereotype. She is a ditzy blonde. She likes the color pink. But she also has what most people dub an 'imaginary friend'. To Abigail, Emma is more than real. In fact, Emma is the reincarnate of Abi's childhood friend, Lily, who died many years ago. Abigail is convinced that Emma is real; just because others don't see her, it doesn't mean she isn't real.
The only thing Abi loves as much as Emma is River, her adopted mustang. She has a natural touch with animals, but lacks the same confidence when it comes to fellow humans - she is so used to being labelled and crazy that she shies away from interaction. When approached though she is perfectly friendly, but she is not one to make the first move.
When her sanity is brought into question she can become quite irritated and angry, as in her mind she is perfectly sane. This is one of the few times you will ever see Abigail angry. The rest of the time she is happy-go-lucky and appears to be in a world of her own, often singing to herself and dancing to her own beat.

father: Joseph Richard Newlynn. 43. Marketing Manager.
siblings: Bethany Marie Newlynn. 20. Attends university.
others: River. 5 year old mustang gelding.
hometown: Boulder City, Nevada
history: Abigail lived an idyllic childhood. Her childhood home was complete with white picket fence, gardens of pansies and an aromatic kitchen. Her mother, Laura, had given up a secretarial career to become a stay at home mother when Abigail's older sister Beth, now 20, was born, and spent much of her time baking delicious goodies, from pies and biscuits to cakes and slices. Her father Allan spent very little time at home, his marketing job in the city taking much of his time.
Like many siblings, Beth and Abigail didn't always get along. As the more lighthearted child, Abi was perhaps something of a favorite to their mother. Beth's jealousy made things difficult at times, but it was never enough to dampen Abigail's spirits. She lost many of her friends due to Beth, who would tell lies to turn them away. Only one friend remained - Lily.
Lily and Abigail were inseparable throughout their childhoods. They lived close to one another and neither went anywhere without the other. Each and every day they would walk to and from the bus stop. They were both twelve when it happened. They were fooling around and the walk to their homes, and Abigail pushed Lily playfully. Lily stepped sideways off the curb, and into the path of an oncoming car.
Abigail never really mourned her friend. She never shed a tear, the shock was too much. Her family were all shocked when just two weeks later, Abigail began laughing and smiling again, talking of a new friend, Emma. Her parents were quick to notice that Emma sounded startlingly like Lily, and soon they received their confirmation - Abigail started speaking to Emma whilst watching the television. She carried out a complete one-sided conversation right before their eyes. They were quick to rush her to a therapist, but when Emma's existence was brought into question, Abigail flew into a rage and shut down completely.
In an attempt to regain their daughter, her parents decided to use her love of horses. They took her to a sale to purchase a pony, and Abigail's eyes never left a small colored colt. Emma insisted the yearling was perfect, but of course Abigail didn't tell her parents that. Reluctantly, her parents bid on the mustang colt and won him for only $95. Abigail named him River, for his long, flowing mane and tail.
River was boarded at a facility just out of town, and it was arranged that the owner of the barn would have him broken when he was old enough. Abigail visited him as often as she could, and soon built a rapport with the skittish mustang. Having a horse to distract her appeared to be working but, in truth, Abigail had simply learned not to speak of Emma, as she believed her parents didn't like her.
When the time came for River to be broken, Abigail was there for each and every session. She provided much assistance in the process and when the time came that he was safe for her to rid, she practically leaped into the saddle. They became inseparable; Abigail would walk the rather large distance to the barn whenever her parents couldn't take her, and rode him for hours each day. By the time he was four, she had started him jumping over low cavaletti. Not long after that, Emma encouraged her to ride him bareback. Abi fell in love with the feeling of the paint gelding moving directly beneath her, and her saddle quickly accumulated dust.
During an argument with her parents when she was 16, Abigail let slip again about Emma. Her parents were furious that she had lied to them, and threatened to sell River. Abigail pleaded with them until they reached an agreement - Abigail would attend at Brook Haven ranch for the rest of her school years and sincerely try to 'get better'. If she had not improved by the day she graduates, River would be sold.
