Mountain Fog

Registered Name: Mountain Fog
Short Name: Fog
Breed: Appaloosa
Sex: Mare
Age: 7 years
Height: 15 hands
Skills: Pleasure riding, mostly Western.
Appearance: Mostly white with small black spots, fading into a more clouded gray appearance in the forebody. A very solid horse.
Reason for Rescue: Fog was involved in a car accident in which her rider was killed. She hasn't been the same since then, and the husband of her original owner brought her to Brook Haven in the hopes that perhaps they could help to restore her to her previous beauty and glory. He could no longer care for her with her special needs.
Personality: A very nervous horse, Fog jumps at the slightest movement that she catches out of the corner of her eye. She's afraid of cars and the noises that they make and she hasn't taken a saddle in the eight months that she's been at Brook Haven. She's looking for just the right teenager to heal her back to health, because before her accident, she was a very loyal and affectionate horse.
Apache's Rising Sun

Registered Name: Apache's Rising Sun
Short Name: Apache
Breed: Paint
Sex: Gelding
Age: 4 years
Height: 14.1 hands
Skills: Western Pleasure Riding
Appearance: A rather petite horse, Apache is a brown and white pinto. His size would make him good for a smaller rider.
Reason for Rescue: Apache was bred by an owner who didn't intend for his mare to become impregnated. The stallion was probably a mustang, and the owner wasn't fond of having the foal around. Apache was ignored for most of his early life and he was ill fed and groomed. When he got an infection in his hoof due to improper cleaning, the vet contacted Charlie Brook and Apache came to the rescue. He's ill trained and has some issues, but he's slowly learning to trust humans.
Personality: The first thing that Charlie realized about Apache was that he was incredibly stubborn. Apache likes to do what he wants to do without any regard for what his trainer or rider wants him to do. Although he's learned to accept a saddle, sometimes he's still inclined to throw his rider off. If you say left, he might say right, and you could wind up on the ride of your life. Regardless, he deserves a good person who needs a friend. He'll be a loyal pet for the right teenager.

Registered Name: Long Road Home
Short Name: Ryder
Breed: Thoroughbred
Sex: Stallion
Age: 8 years
Height: 16.3 hands
Skills: Racing
Appearance: A large horse, and a stallion. This horse has the potential to be very powerful indeed, and he is very well muscled now that he's been nursed back to health. His coat is a beautiful roan.
Reason for Rescue: Ryder had served his purpose as a race horse. Though his owner was a good woman who cared a great deal for the horse, she felt that he would be better served living out the rest of his life at a place like Brook Haven. He has been donated to the school to be used to aid in training with the other horses.
Personality: Cooperative, but spirited, Ryder is one of Charlie's favorite horses when he needs to ride off some steawm. Athough Charlie prefers Western riding, he enjoys taking a ride on a horse who knows how to flat out run when the time is right for them to do it.
Cupid's Dancing Halo

Registered Name: Cupid's Dancing Halo
Short Name: Halo
Breed: Morgn
Sex: Mare
Age: 9 years
Height: 14.3 hands
Skills: Dressage
Appearance: A very handsome Morgan, Halo has a beautiful shiny coat and well developed muscles, now that she's had the care that she deserves and has begun to be trained up and worked again.
Reason for Rescue: Two years ago, Halo's owner died of AIDS. He'd loved the horse a great deal and had shown her in events across the country, but there was nobody to take Halo after he died, and her care fell into neglect. Charlie rescued her from her owner's brother a year and a half ago and brought her to Brook Haven.
Personality: Halo is affectionate and obedient, but she's always into something. She is a spirited horse who had a bit of an attitude and she can be quite a show off at times. Helo likes to always have her way in everything that she does, and she's bossy in the stables. The other horses don't seem to like her very much, and she is best trained alone.
